For People Who Refuse To Be Boxed In

You don't live according to someone else's rules. Instead, you create your own. You should apply the same original thinking to your choice of vehicle by choosing the one that is as bold as it is versatile. The 2009 Chevrolet HHR. The 260 hp HHR SS should get you all fired up. And your individuality will find its true expression from a choice of Utility or Panel body styles, six models and three powerful yet impressively fuel-efficient ECOTEC engines. Another way that HHR shows its respect for you is through the highest possible U.S. government frontal and side-impact safety ratings.** The vehicle that knows when to follow the rules and when to break them. Chevrolet HHR.

The No Holds Barred Utility Vehicle

How can a vehicle this versatile be this exhilarating? The HHR SS features a 2.0L turbocharged ECOTEC engine with variable valve timing (VVT) and new spark ignition direct injection (SIDI) that generates an astounding 260 horsepower. The five-speed no-lift upshift manual transmission lets you run through the gears without lifting off the throttle. Don't hold back, with HHR SS.

Built For Control Freaks

The flip side of power is control. For 2009, all HHR models include a four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control and the StabiliTrak™ electronic stability control system. StabiliTrak applies brake pressure at the appropriate wheel or wheels to address the causes of understeer or oversteer. There is no question about who is in control with HHR.

2009 Chevrolet HHR

Three Engines – One Mission

The three ECOTEC engines in the HHR lineup share a dedication to optimizing both power and fuel efficiency. The 155 hp 2.2L, 172 hp 2.4L and 260 hp 2.0L turbocharged ECOTEC 4-cylinder engines all employ a dual overhead camshaft configuration and torque-boosting variable valve timing. The 2.2L and 2.4L FlexFuel engines are capable of running on E85 ethanol. Now that's thinking ahead of the curve.
