Making Dreams Possible from Playground to Podium
Above and beyond their drive and dedication, our athletes need the extra support of funding and top-level coaching in order to reach the podium. The Making Dreams Possible program supports athletes at all levels through coaching excellence. The program is administered by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).
High Performance Grants
Every year through 2010, GM will offer ten high performance grants of $10,000 each to support the coaching needs of our Canadian athletes.
To apply, a coach must be National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certified and training a high performance, nationally carded athlete in an Olympic or Paralympic event. Complete eligibility information and application forms are available at coach.ca.
Community Coaching Grants
To foster coaching excellence at the grassroots level, 100 grants of $2,000 each will be awarded annually to community sport organizations through 2010. To date, the program has impacted over 9,000 coaches and nearly 110,000 young athletes. Help make dreams possible in your community! Visit coach.ca for complete eligibility information and application forms.
GM Dealers Contribute to the Dream
The Making Dreams Possible program offers GM Dealers and Saturn Retailers the opportunity to ensure that a club coaching grant is awarded to a sport organization in their community. We appreciate the Dealers and Retailers who have contributed $1,000 towards a grant. GM will match their contribution, ensuring that a full $2,000 grant is awarded to a local applicant in their community.
