Advice

Body Options for Light-duty Trucks

These chassis cabs permit the installation of special use bodies and equipment such as wreckers, dumps, stake or van bodies, etc. Body length should not normally exceed 3.66m (12 feet) and the maximum body and payload weight should not be more than specified, depending on the model and GVWR selected. It is suggested that a weight distribution calculation be made with the assistance of your GM dealer or body supplier to ensure the vehicle's axle capacities and GVWR will not be exceeded.

Some chassis cabs are fundamentally pickups with the boxes deleted. This is a generally accepted industry practice.
