Silverado 3500HD Chassis Cab forms a solid foundation for your business. It uses high-strength steel in its two-section modular frame to give you the platform you need for you specific upfitting requirements - with convenient industry-standard rail spacing. And with Silverado Chassis Cab, strength is combined with formidable power from the standard 322 hp Vortec 6.0L V8 and the available 397 horsepower Duramax 6.6L V8 Turbo Diesel. All that's needed is the body required for your specific application.

Getting the Right Body for Your Truck
These chassis cabs permit the installation of special use bodies and equipment such as wreckers, dumps, stake or van bodies, etc. Body length should not normally exceed 3.66m (12 feet) and the maximum body and payload weight should not be much more than 3175 kg (7000 lb.), depending on the model and GVWR selected. It is suggested that a weight distribution calculation be made with the assistance of your GM dealer or body supplier to ensure the vehicle's axle capacities and the GVWR will not be exceeded.
Some chassis cabs are fundamentally pickups with the boxes deleted. This is a generally accepted industry practice.
