Canada's first full-size hybrid SUV*** is making waves. Yukon's revolutionary two-mode hybrid system is a recipient of the 2008 CAA Pyramid Award for Environmental Initiatives. Talk about a vehicle that has the full package.
The 2008 Yukons have the muscle you need to tackle your biggest challenges. Engine choices range from a 310 hp on Yukon XL 1500 4x4 to a 320 hp Vortec 5.3L V8 with gas-saving Active Fuel Management®, all the way up to an awesome 380 hp Vortec 6.2L V8 with variable valve timing (VVT). The trailer towing ratings are equally impressive, topping out at a whopping 4355 kg (9600 lb.).
The 2008 Yukons are the full-size SUVs with a multitude of safety features. Their premium powertrain, suspension and braking systems all help you avoid collisions whenever possible. And should a crash occur, you are protected by Yukon's heavily reinforced body structure, dual frontal air bags and standard head-curtain side-impact air bags for all outboard seating positions.
When you have a large load to carry, the 2008 Yukons are at their very best. With a full quota of passengers on board, Yukon can accommodate 478 litres of gear behind the rear seat, while Yukon XL can handle a massive 1297 litres. The Yukon XL can carry 4' x 8' sheets of building material with the second- and third-row seats tucked away.
On the inside, Yukon and Yukon XL are stylish, roomy, quiet and extremely comfortable vehicles. Supportive seating for as many as nine occupants is available on Yukon models and standard on Yukon XL. There's also a standard tri-zone climate control system that allows the driver, front passenger and rear passengers to maintain their own preferred temperatures.
At the touch of a button, Yukon's available power release fold-and-tumble second-row bucket seats tuck neatly out of the way to make room for cargo or allow easier access to the third-row seat. They can be operated from the driver's seat or via a button inside the cargo area.
