The 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix is all about putting you in total control. There's a choice of 200 hp V6 and 303 hp V8 engines, both ready and willing to do your bidding. Other technical features - like a WideTrack stance, a sophisticated fully independent suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering and a power four-wheel-disc braking system - mean that Grand Prix responds to your every input with enthusiasm. Inside, the ergonomic design of the driver-focused cockpit creates a direct, intimate connection between you and the car - and the road. And Grand Prix comes with standard OnStar°, which puts an even higher level of security and convenience at your disposal. Grand Prix, take the wheel and take charge.
Grand Prix GXP's standard 5.3L V8 combines tremendous power with surprising fuel efficiency. Among its many advanced features is an Active Fuel Management® system that reduces fuel consumption during low demand circumstances by deactivating 4 cylinders. The transition is almost imperceptible and when more power is required, the engine instantly returns to V8 power.
The race-inspired TAPshift feature integrated into Grand Prix GXP's automatic transmission allows you to shift up or down a gear at will with a touch of the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
Grand Prix is built to perform over the long haul and backed with the best coverage in Canada. For the first 160,000 km or 5 years† of ownership, you enjoy a Powertrain Limited Warranty, Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation should your car require warranty repairs.
Confident braking power is standard equipment on Grand Prix. Every model includes a power disc brake at all four wheels. Grand Prix GXP goes even further, with 4-wheel vented and cross-drilled discs, and standard ABS.
