GM Canada Celebrates Centennial Year by "Growing the Next Generation"

To commemorate the special GM 100th anniversary milestone, GM Canada is partnering with Girl Guides and Scouts Canada to plant 20,000 trees across Canada. This partnership provides a unique way of recognizing GM's 100th anniversary and invests in the next generation of youth and next generation of trees.

GMCL and Colonel Sam have a long and rich history with Girl Guides Canada and Scouts Canada. These organizations have a shared environmental focus and partnering with them is a logical choice.

The tree planting events will begin next week to coincide with the beginning of Earth Week and will continue through the remainder of the tree planting season . The tree planting activities begin in three GM locations next week to kick-off the national initiative. The Oshawa tree planting ceremony is planned for April 21st followed by St Catharines 22nd and Windsor on the 23rd. These activities will be followed by events in Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Halifax and St. John, all coordinated by Girl Guides and Scouts Canada.
