Thanks for visiting MissionGreen.com!

Before you hit the road, we'd like to tell you what Mission Green is all about, and why you should add this site to your "favorites" folder.

Mission Green is a cross Canada tour driven by Garry Sowerby, a renowned Canadian adventure traveler and world record setter. This year is a very special one for Garry as it marks 25 years of driving around Canada and the world. In those 25 years, Garry has seen a lot of interesting sights and met thousands of interesting people. He's also noticed something very special about Canadians - they love their country and they're doing some pretty interesting things to protect its environment. So, to celebrate 25 years on the road, Garry traveled across the country in search of all those things Canadians are doing to protect, preserve and improve our environment. From revitalizing a local park to creating wind turbines that provide a clean, renewable source of energy, Canadian communities are initiating numerous environmental programs. Through MissionGreen.com, you can follow Garry's journey in as he visited 85 of these communities, and see all the places he's been and the great people he has met committed to our environment!

So how did Garry get around? Garry traveled in the General Motors Parallel Hybrid Truck (PHT), which offers a 10-15% savings in fuel consumption. He also drove (no, not at the same time!), the E85 capable Yukon, which when fuelled with Iogen's cellulose ethanol, has lower net GHG emissions than the small hybrid vehicles on the market today.

Garry's journey began in Halifax and you can follow the journey but clicking on the cities on the map or using the travel log, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
